This is a monument of an old lady called Fatima,
who told Suleyman the Magnificient of his future, before
the war with Rhodes.
According
to legent she fed the entire army with milk of one cow and
became a Saint. Now people visit this site as it is
believed that should you make a wish it will come true.
DALYAN - CAUNOS
A prestigious town which can be reached by
the big excursion boats in 1-2 hours from most resorts.
The sail to this region is enjoyable with surprising
landscapes along the way. You can get to Dalyan Delta
(which is too narrow for the bigger boats), by boarding a
smaller boat, which will bring you to the ancient city of
Caunos where you can visit the ruins of a Roman theatre,
Roman bath and the Agora, church.
A
short journey on from here will take you further through
the reeds to the Carian Rock Tombs dating back to the 4th
century B.C.
The tombs were carved from rock, 100 meters above the river. The biggest and most attractive of these tombs is the one belonging to the God of Wine "Dionysos".
